New CEO in Technolution
Thomas Bach Agerslev (51) will be stepping out of the board room and into the daily management of Technolution when he officially enters his new position as CEO on October 1st, 2022. Meanwhile founder and Managing Partner, Allan Spork, is looking forward to handing over his life’s work to a leader who will continue the business in its usual spirit.
Founded in 2003 by Allan Spork and employing only a small team of engineers, Technolution initially offered consulting services for product development in a variety of industries. It quickly became clear, however, that its focus should be on medical devices, and today the company is established as one of the biggest consultancies within MedTech in Scandinavia.
Medical device development requires close integration of many competencies, and Technolution currently spans ten areas of expertise with specialists in project management, conceptualizing, prototyping, construction, test, simulation, QA, documentation, and commercializing. Its staff has grown to more than 65 employees managing integrated MedTech development projects from A-Z.
This is something of a life’s work Allan is handing over, although he is not entirely letting go of Technolution. Allan will remain as responsible for client relations and driving new markets and will also continue as member of the board. “It was with a slight flutter that I announced the news to all employees, as it is of great importance to me that everybody welcomes the new organization and Thomas as CEO”, says Allan. “I am very proud of all that we can offer at this stage and satisfied with the increased attention on the full range of our competencies and the future growth of the company”.
Thomas Bach Agerslev has followed Technolution ever since its earliest beginnings and has known Allan Spork even longer, so this is not a new partnership. Thomas has been a board member in Technolution for the last four years, and he is leaving a position as Partner in Implement Consulting Group, where he has been focusing on management- and organizational development mainly for clients within pharma for the last five years.
Thomas embarked on his career as a graduate in Mechanical Engineering at F.L. Schmidt in 1994, but his focus soon turned towards management. After his Diploma in Business Administration, his work experience includes eleven years at Novo Nordisk, part of this time as Vice President of CMC-support. Thus, he brings a highly relevant background for the further development of Technolution towards our 2025-objectives and beyond.
“Our aim is to build an employee base of 100 skilled consultants, which will enable us to manage entire development projects for our ambitious clients in MedTech. That requires a continued focus on being a stimulating workplace with a fantastic team-spirit”, says Thomas Bach Agerslev and continues, “I am very happy to have made this decision and I cannot wait to get to know the team and the clients even better and to get Technolution under my skin”.
A new partner setup was introduced in 2017 to implement a gradual handover of management responsibility in the expanding business. With the new organization and Thomas Bach Agerslev on board as CEO, Technolution has taken another step in a carefully planned process for bringing in the next generation.
