Life Cycle Screenings and Assessments

Do you know the carbon footprint of your product?

Evaluating the pathways towards decreased carbon footprint of existing medical devices can be a cheap and fast task.

Our sustainability engineers specialize in conducting comprehensive life cycle assessments and screenings for medical devices, ensuring that every decision is backed by reliable, data-driven insights. Using trusted environmental data from sources like the eco-invent database, we assess the environmental and climate impacts across various stages of the product’s life cycle.

Existing product and production (setup)

Conducting Life Cycle Assessments on existing products and operations can be used for multiple purposes.

Our sustainability engineers are trained to conduct LCA’s according to the ISO-14040 / ISO-14044 standard, ensuring an objective environmental evaluation of an existing product. An assessment of an existing product can optimize organizational operations by identifying potential improvements in e.g., packaging and transport, thereby reducing both the product’s environmental impact and costs.

The assessment can furthermore be used as benchmark for developing new generations of the same product and for evaluating environmental performance against competitors’ products that fulfill the same function.

During product development

Life Cycle Screenings (LCS) is a quick and effective method to evaluate the environmental impact of concepts during the development process and can serve as a tool for early design evaluation and selection.

We strive to reduce the environmental footprint of the products we develop by quantifying it as early as possible. Using data, we make informed decisions from the outset.

Our set of six eco-design principles can be applied at any stage of the development process and will help your organization get a quick evaluation of the sustainability prospects. And if the need arises, we’ll go the distance with your project team and do a comprehensive sustainability analysis.
