The look and feel of a medical device should incite confidence, thereby leaving the user with a feeling of certainty that the device is safe, works as intended and is ultimately for the benefit of the user’s health. Other than signaling values like solidity and reliability, however, the device must also be discreet so as to not make the user feel stigmatized when using the product in a setting away from home, e.g. at work.
The UX and Design team at Technolution knows that great MedTech industrial design is all about balancing these apparent design opposites. Careful design choices will ensure that the medical device is both functional and will fit seamlessly into the user’s everyday life.
